It could be said that a family dog’s weak point is house training. You could end up cleaning its excrement and urine for weeks, months or even years. There comes a point where you get fed up and would think that these mess is impossible to stop but there are things that you could do before it reaches to this point where you would almost want to give up your dog. It is house training your dog. What it takes to accomplish house training a dog is patience and hard work.
A dog would not know or think that it is offensive to poop anywhere in the house so you would need to understand. A dog really does not know what house training is. Patience would really be very important as you would be following the dog tracking its behaviour knowing its habit and if there is a pattern to its daily activities. Also be sure that your dog is in good health, you should always be in contact with your veterinarian because some conditions need recheck and adjustments to medication. Always have care maintenance for your dog.
Usually the house training a dog would always be about its excrement and urine. It has always been the one problem that most dog owning family has. First thing you need to do is observe when your dog or puppy poops. It usually does when it wakes up in the or after a nap, after having its meal usually half an hour to an hour after it and before it sleeps. There are also some habits or mannerism that a dog displays before it would want to poop so also take note of these things as it would be very helpful in house training a dog.
Setting up a litter box or talking your dog outside your house into the yard after it wakes up and eats, and before it sleeps this way it could understand that he could take poops during this time. If this is done regularly the dog would remember it and it would tour into a habit. The same is also true with their urine but this one is done more often so you must be extra vigilant with these. Your dog taking a poop or urinating in the house could not be avoided especially if it is still in training. One thing you must remember with this is that you show disapproval when they do this. When cleaning their excrement make sure not to show it to the puppy or your dog. Mother dogs usually clean the dirt that their young leave and you would not want your puppy or your dog to think that you are doing the same for it.
